Wood River Animal Hospital is excited to welcome Dr. Becky Cauchon, a 2025 graduate of Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Cauchon’s passion for animals of all kinds shines through in her care — from cats and dogs to more exotic companions.
As she grows into her role as a veterinarian, she’s eager to connect more with owners of small mammals, birds, reptiles, and other unique pets, helping them receive the same high-quality veterinary care as dogs and cats.
Dr. Cauchon earned her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Rhode Island, where she built a strong foundation in animal health, behavior, and care. After graduation, she began her professional journey right here at Wood River Animal Hospital, working as a Veterinary Technician before pursuing her degree as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Cauchon spent many years volunteering for Guiding Eyes for the Blind as a Puppy Raiser, helping to train future guide dogs. Her very special companion, named Ice Cream, was the second puppy she raised, who she ended up adopting as a medical release.
At home, Dr. Cauchon’s life is happily full of animals. She and her husband share their space with their two other wonderful dogs - Maverick, and Juno - along with a lively flock of chickens and a busy colony of honey bees. Outside of the clinic, you can find Dr. Cauchon enjoying the outdoors or singing along to her favorite Taylor Swift songs.
Now returning to Wood River Animal Hospital as a veterinarian, Dr. Cauchon is thrilled to once again be part of the community in her new role as a doctor. She looks forward to building lasting relationships with both pets and their owners.
