Dr. Schuelke grew up right in Richmond, Rhode Island and even worked at Wood River Animal Hospital as a technician prior to graduating from the University of Rhode Island with her Animal Science degree in 2016.
Dr. Plunkett grew up in West Kingston and moved to the Richmond area while in college. She graduated with a degree in Animal Science: Pre-Vet from the University of Rhode Island in 2017. During that time, she gained veterinary technical experience at several southern Rhode Island animal hospitals. She attended and graduated Midwestern University in Arizona with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in June 2022. She has a passion for integrative medicine and dentistry, and plans to further her education in these fields in upcoming years.
Dr. Boy grew up in Southeastern New Hampshire and received a BA in Microbiology and MS in Animal Science from the University of New Hampshire in Durham. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1987, then completed a Large Animal Surgery Internship at Cornell University in 1988, and a Residency in Large Animal Internal Medicine at University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1990.
Dr. Diamanti graduated from St. George’s University and completed an ambulatory and surgical internship at Rhinebeck Equine. It was the experience and knowledge she gained during her internship that led Dr. Diamanti to pursue certification in integrative therapies.
Joe Impellizeri DVM, DACVIM (Oncology), MRCVS of Veterinary Oncology Services, is a 1994 graduate of Cornell University who became a Diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, subspecialty of Oncology in 2005.
Courtney started work at Wood River in May of 2007 as a lead Receptionist. She has been working full time as our Practice Manager since October of 2012, and assists the doctors, technicians, and reception staff throughout each day.
Alex grew up in Southern Rhode Island. She joined Wood River Animal Hospital two years ago after obtaining a bachelors degree in Animal Science from the University of Rhode Island. Alex loves the fast paced environment of working at WRAH. She is a team player here at the office and is a great communicator with our clients. Alex is passionate about providing the highest quality of care and takes the time to make each patient, as well as their owners, feel as comfortable as possible in a hospital environment! In her spare time, you can find her on the ocean or with her Boston Terrier, Otis.
Working with and helping animals has always been a dream of Chelsea's but it wasn't until the pandemic that she decided to make her dream a reality. She went back to school, attending the Animal Behavior College, to become a Certified Veterinary Assistant and plans to continue her education in veterinary technology, specializing in animal behavior because she believes every animal deserves to be understood. Working in this field has brought her so much joy and made her a better pet mom to her cat, Buca and her dogs; Farrah and Alvie.

Lexie graduated with her bachelors degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences from the University of Rhode Island in 2018. She has loved being a vet tech for the last six years and hopes to one day attend veterinary school. Her world revolves around four felines, two horses, and one very happy-go-lucky dog named Poppy!
Rachel joined the Wood River Animal Hospital team in the summer of 2021. She is currently taking classes in pursuit of a bachelors degree in biology. In her freetime, she enjoys hiking throughout New England, reading, playing piano and travelling to visit her brother in the Navy. Her feisty cat, Peaches, keeps her family entertained with daily zoomies and trying to visit the birds outside!
Kate started at WRAH as a hospital assistant in June 2021. She has since moved into a Technician role and plans to become a Pharmacist in the future while spending her freetime with her friends!
Ashley graduated with a degree in Psychology in 2017, and after years of helping people she decided on a career change to primarily help animals. Ashley grew up with several cats, and now has a cat Diego and a black Labrador named Casey. Ashley mainly works in reception but is fascinated with the hands-on role of being a Veterinary Technician so recently began training there, with plans to pursue an additional degree in Veterinary Science.
Marlayna loves nothing more than to be spending time with Maximus, her German Rottweiler, in the sun! In the coming months she plans to start studying Veterinary Technology. Growing up in the small town of Voluntown, CT, her exposure to wildlife and animals have provoked some big dreams! Since she was a little girl she has dreamt of becoming a livestock veterinarian. Marlayna enjoys going fishing, hiking, and sticking her toes in the sand at any beach she can find!
Stephanie grew up all over RI, with one thing in common in each place, her animals. Growing up, she had a love for all animals and always knew she wanted to help them. Now that she has her dream job, her off-time consists of spending time with her 3 children, significant other, 2 dogs, 1 cat and countless chickens.
Maddie has been a hospital assistant at WRAH since July 2021. She plans to work in sports media, either in broadcasting journalism or social media coordination. In her free time she loves spending time with her dogs and cat, going to concerts and hanging out with her friends and family!
